Why prajapati daksha hate lord shiva

His head was of an ibex-like creature with spiral horns. It is said that Lord Brahma created Daksha from his right thumb. Daksh Prajapati was the father-in-law of Lord Shiva. His daughter Sati was married to Lord Shiva. Prajapati Daksh has been so named because he is an expert in producing children. Daksha was the father of 24 daughters with his wife, Prasuti. The names of these 24 daughters are as follows:. Moreover, when he felt that these numbers are still not sufficient, he decided to have 60 more daughters.

It is said that Sati was the youngest daughter of Daksha. She wanted to marry Lord Shiva. Daksha did not like Lord Shiva and forbade their marriage. He considered Shiva as a wandering Sadhu. He invited all the Devas, Yakshas, and Gandharvas. You would find a lot of Dakshas still active in the world, try attending a wedding in India. Intelligence is important for administration of world hence he is Prajapati but it comes with its disadvantage of Ego.

However, the final destination is always Trust, The Shiva. Going to guru dwara or Sai Baba temple can help. Lord Shiva and Sati, therefore, had a sight of Lord Rama in exile. So taking a guise of Sita, Sati appeared before Rama. Lord Rama knew everything so he regarded her as Sati. He also showed her some of His glories. Now Sati had firm belief in Lord Rama. But Lord Shiva was much disturbed by Sati because of her taking the guise of Sita. Lord Shiva had, therefore, acquired an indifferent stance towards Sati.

Thus she was feeling anguished by Lord Shiva's behaviour. Hence she prayed silently: 'O Lord, may my body be destroyed soon, as this body is not able to serve Lord Shiva'.

Hence, when she heard about the grand feast organised by her father, in abject violation of her husband's dictate, Sati got ready to attend the feast. Lord Shiva too sent her with a lot of gifts and servants.

There at Daksha's palace Sati found that all were ignoring her because of her father's fear. Even her sisters laughed at her for coming alone. In all, Sati found nothing favourable in her father's home. Only her mother welcomed her that too in isolation. After the Tandava dance, hegrabbed a lock of his matted hair and dashed it to the ground next to him. From the two pieces rose the ferocious Veerabhadra and the terrible Bhadrakali.

Upon Shiva's command, Veerbhadra came to the earth and killed Daksha by cutting his head off. After much pleading from all gods, Shiva, the all-merciful One, restored Daksha's life, with the head of a goat. In his humility and repentance for his graceless and sinful acts, he even left his palace along with his wife Prasuti and began to live in Kashi, hence becoming one of Lord Shiva's most devoted attendants.

All this time, Daksh felt that his daughter Sati was around him, as Parvati was in fact the incarnation of Sati. Devon ke Dev Mahadev Wiki Explore.
